For OkiJETs, the two most important locations in Okinawa (aside from your base/visiting schools) will be the Prefectural Office in Naha and the Comprehensive Education Center in Okinawa City. This post will act as a guide to helping all OkiJETs make their way to the Prefectural Office.

By Car (via Expressway Exit #2 Nishihara / 西原)

Coming from either the north or the south on the Express Way, get off at the #2 Nishihara Exit. After paying the toll, get into the left lane and turn onto the 330. Follow the 330 down past the Furujima, Omoromachi and Asato monorail train stations.  When you get to the Tsuboya (壺屋) Intersection, turn right and go straight down. When you get to the Kenchou-Minamikuchi (県庁南口) Intersection, turn right. Go past the Police Station Building driveway and turn left into the Prefectural Office entrance. Take a slip of paper from the guard, then head down to basement 1 or 2 to park your car.

By Car (no Expressway)

From the North or Chubu area, find your way to the 58 and go straight down. When you get to the Kumoji (久茂地) Intersection, the Times Hall Building will be on your left, turn left and get into the far right lane. Go straight until you pass the start of Kokusai Doori. At the next traffic light, get into the right turning lane and turn into the Kencho entrance. Take a slip of paper from the guard, then head down to basement 1 or 2 to park your car.

From the South, find your way to either the 329 or the 331, then follow it until it merges into the 58. When you reach the Kumoji (久茂地) Intersection, there will be a Family Mart on your right side, turn right and get into the far right lane. Go straight until you pass the start of Kokusai Doori. At the next traffic light, get into the right turning lane and turn into the Kencho entrance. Take a slip of paper from the guard, then head down to basement 1 or 2 to park your car.

By Bus (from Nago)

① From the Nago Bus Terminal catch Bus number 120. Take it all the way down to Kencho-Kitaguchi (県庁北口). Get off and walk 5 minutes to the Prefectural Office. Allow about 140 minutes for travel. It should cost about 1900 yen.

By Taxi

Tell the taxi driver “Okinawa Kenchou“ (for the Prefectural Office) and that should get you to the Prefectural Office.
