Dress code
Formal business event, so formal business attire is required. Kariyushi is also okay.

Other reminders
For Reappointing JETs, please bring your inkan for your contracts. After the ceremony, those who need to renew their working visas have a chance to go to the Immigration Office in Naha.

For Returning JETs, you will need to prepare a short speech (in Japanese) about your experience on JET. You will also be receiving your flight tickets at this time, so be sure to bring your inkan.

SDC 2015

Registration
Registration for Day 1, Thursday, November 12th, will be from 9:30am to 10:20am in the Multi-Purpose Hall.  The Opening Ceremony will start at 10:30am.  Do not be late!

The SDC will take place at the Prefectural Education Center in Okinawa City.  Here is the address:

Please park at the Comprehensive Athletic Park next door.  If you are being dropped off, we ask that you get dropped off at the gates to the center. You can visit the OkiJET website for a more detailed step-by-step set of directions to the Education Center via car/bus.

Dress Code
The SDC is a formal business conference, so formal business attire is required.  Kariyushi will also be allowed, due to the stuffy conditions in some of the conference rooms at the center.   For women, it is suggested to dress accordingly and to keep in mind that some rooms may be too warm for a jacket.

Attendance
Attendance for each workshop is mandatory and will be strictly monitored throughout the conference. Please be sure to check your name off on the sign-in sheet as you enter each workshop.  If you miss a workshop (or do not check your name off), your school or office will receive a call from our division (this policy will also apply to JTEs) so please be absolutely sure you attend and sign-in for each workshop!

SDC 2015: Registration

This is a reminder that this year’s Skill Development Conference (SDC) will be held on Thursday, November 12th and Friday, November 13th.

The registration paperwork for SDC has been sent out to all the schools, BOEs and education offices and should arrive this week.  Included in the materials sent to your schools you will find the official letter, workshop descriptions and the workshop sign-up form.  Please fill out the form and have your coordinator/BOEs return it to us as soon as you can.

The deadline to register is Friday, October 16th for all ALTs and JTEs.
